Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #41

Well, here is my Weekend Sketch Challenge for this week. I can't believe I got it in early two weeks in a row. The sketch was for a square card, but I made a rectangle card because I don't have any square envelopes. And since my parent's 34th wedding anniversary is coming up soon, I thought I would use this sketch challenge to make their anniversary card. Here is the sketch for this weekend.
And here is the card that I made using the sketch. I enjoyed this sketch and tried the sponging for the first time. I hope they like the anniversary card.

Just Because

Well, I should be asleep right now but I decided to make another card instead. I decided to use some new designer paper that I bought at Michael's. It was on clearance so I bought it.

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Greetings Galore
Paper: Whisper White CS, Purely Pomegranate CS, Berry Bliss Designer Series Paper, Candy Shop Designer Paper (Martha Stewart)
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Light Pink Gingham Ribbon, Flower Accents, Brad, Stampin' Dimensionals

Springtime Friend

Since it is Spring now, I was feeling like making a card that illustrated the spring fever. So, I used a stamp set that I was given for Christmas from a friend. I hadn't used it yet because it seemed kinda springy-summery. I don't know the name of the stamp set because the label isn't on it. But it is a retired Stampin' Up set from the year 2001.

And of course, I used my Spring Fling Designer Paper and I used my paper piercer for the first time. I also used my new flower brads. The flower brad goes great with this DSP. I like the card, but it did take a while to make because of all the coloring. But it just wouldn't have looked right without the coloring.

Be Inspired Challenge #6 and Color Challenge #159

Beate's Be Inspired Challenge #6 was a picture of this Coldwater Creek skirt.
And once I looked at the Color Challenge, which was Soft Sky (Bashful Blue), Basic Gray (Basic Black), and Whisper White. I figured that I could knock out both challenges with one card. Here is the card that I made for the challenges.

Recipe: Stamp Sets: None Paper: Whisper White CS, Basic Black CS, Soft Sky CS, Soft Sky Designer Seris Paper Ink: None Accessories: Love & Happiness Rub-Ons, Scallop Circle Punch, Circle Punches

Beate's WSC #40 - Fabulous Love

I can't believe it is already Friday. That means I have to go to work tonight. Thank goodness I only have to work three nights a week. This week I thought I would do the WSC before I head off to bed on Friday instead of waiting until Monday morning when my week is over. Here is the sketch for this week.

I really love the Fabulous Flowers stamp set and I was thinking that this sketch gave me a great excuse to use it again. :-) I had tons of fun with this sketch, thanks for the inspiration, Beate! Here is my card for this week's sketch.

Recipe:

Stamp Sets: Fabulous Flowers
Paper: River Rock CS, Groovy Guava CS, Designer Paper from the Secret Garden Simply Scrappin' Set (retired)
Ink: Groovy Guava
Accessories: Groovy Guava Double Stitched Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

TLC 160 - Cuttlebug:Negative Effect

So, the technique challenge this week was to use a Cuttlebug folder and ink the negative side and then choose your paper and run the inked folder with the paper inside through the Cuttlebug. I decided to make a birthday card because I wanted to use my new balloon brads that I had ordered. So, making a birthday card just fit. Since my brad was very close in color to Pretty in Pink I chose that as my base card. I absolutely love the color combo of Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa and Purely Pomegranate and so I just went from there.

Recipe:
Stamp Sets: For a Friend (Level I Hostess)
Paper: Pretty In Pink, Close to Cocoa, Very Vanilla
Ink: Purely Pomegranate, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Chocolate Grosgrain Ribbon, Balloon Brad, Cuttlebug, Happy Birthday Embossing Folder, Stampin' Dimensionals

WSC #39

Since it is almost Easter, I thought I would use my stamp set, 'A Good Egg', for the first time to make the card for the weekend sketch challenge. I really like this sketch and enjoyed making this card.

Here are some of the other Easter cards that I have made recently. Hope you enjoy them.

Beate's Be Inspired Challenge #4

I can't believe I have had time to do two challenges in one week. It is actually a miracle. Here is the textured cutting board that Beate posted on her blog as the Be Inspired Challenge.

Here is my take on the card. I actually had to pull out some retired stuff to complete the challenge.

WSC #38

So, I get home from work on Monday at noon and don't have to be back to work until Friday night at 11pm. Since I was going to have so much time off I decided that I actually had time to check out Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge and get the card made by Wednesday. It has been months since I have participated in the WSC, but I remember that the winner was selected on Wednesdays. So, I made the card and then when I went post it today, and I realized that the winner was selected on Monday. :-( Well, it's too bad that I wasn't able to be the winner, but I did do the challenge, so I decided to go ahead and post it. I used ALOT of my new stuff that my hubby bought me to make the card. The stamp set I used was one of the Sale-a-Bration sets that was free with the order. I was super excited to make this card.

Here is the sketch that was to be used:

And here is the card that I made:

Here's the recipe for the card:
Stamp Sets: Merci (Sale-a-Bration 2008)
Paper: Apricot Appeal CS, Certainly Celery CS, Barely Banana CS, Pretty in Pink CS, Sage Shadow CS, and Spring Fling Designer Series Paper
Ink: Staz-On Jet Black
Stampin' Write Markers: Apricot Appeal, Certainly Celery, Blush Blossom, Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Apricot Grosgrain Ribbon, Hodgepodge Hardware, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Cuttlebug, Bloom Dots Embossing Folder

Happy Anniversary to my husband and I

It's hard to believe that my husband and I have been married for three years already. Time sure flies when you're having fun. I love my husband alot and believe that I am extremely lucky to have him as my hubby. I wanted to make a special card for him. So I decided to use a stamp set that I received as a gift (I had never used it before) and a new technique. He really loved the card and always seems shocked when I show him a card that I have made.

Recipe:
Stamp Sets: Love Always
Paper: Pretty in Pink CS, Purely Pomegranate CS, Close to Cocoa Designer Series Paper
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Purely Pomegranate
Accessories: Dryer Sheet Technique, Glitter, Light Pink Gingham Ribbon

Boatloads of Love

I made a valentine's day card for my mom to give to my dad. And since it was going to be a card for a man, she didn't want it to be pink and red. So, we sat down and she chose Blue Bayou, River Rock and Very Vanilla as the colors for the card.

Recipe:
Stamp Sets: Boatloads of Love
Paper: River Rock CS, Blue Bayou CS, Very Vanilla CS
Ink: Timber Brown Stazon, Blue Bayou, River Rock, Groovy Guava
Accessories: Hodgepodge Hardware, Blender Pens

The great thing about this card is that it can also be used as a Happy Anniversary or even Thinking of You card.

Onesie Cards

I saw a card that my sister had made that looked like a baby's onesie and I thought that it was super cute. So I had to try it out. I made two different cards, one for a baby boy and one for a baby girl. I really love the results. I used the same stamp sets, Baby Firsts and Greetings Galore for both cards. I simply used different colors when I was coloring and decorating each card.

Making these cards was alot of fun, and they were very simple to make. I might have to volunteer to make these cards for the next baby shower that I am a part of. :-)

Happy St. Patrick's Day

It has been an awfully long time since I have made a posting. It is difficult when you are working 70 hours a week, and barely have time to sleep. I'm glad that I have 4 days off a week now. It gives me more time for stamping. I have made lots of cards over the last week that I will be posting today. Since St. Patty's is just around the corner, I decided to make a card with my new stamp set, Pinch Proof. There is alot of green on this card, but that is the main color for St. Patty's Day.

Recipe:
Stamp Sets: Pinch Proof, Year Round Fun II (Retired)
Paper: Garden Green CS, Certainly Celery CS, Whisper White CS, Wild Wasabi Designer Series Paper (From the Level I Hostess Prints Pack)
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Certainly Celery
Accessories: Hodgepodge Hardware, Wild Wasabi Double Stitched Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals
